Alsothe night monitor of Board 14's hall; the arbiter
A clay night monitor in a guard's cap, back to us, nodding off at a small monitor marked FEED 3 in the school hall where ten-year-old Daniel Fenn gave up Board 14: Episode 3's night watch, in the wrong decade.
The clay arbiter of Board 14's hall: a night monitor in a cap, back to us, nodding off at monitor FEED 3 (Episode 3's night watch has a double){E4 16:40}edit
For nineteen seconds, while the teacher answers "Did you ever give up?" with "Once.", the board turns into clay memory: a school hall at night, fourteen tables, and on table 14 a child's clay hand tipping the black king over. The person who should be watching is a clay figure in a cap, his back to us, nodding off at a monitor called FEED 3 with a sticky note that says to flag anything unusual. Nothing on screen explains him and nobody stops him. He is Episode 3's night monitor, an agent watching a two-second loop for 76 nights, in the hall of a game fifty-six years earlier.
