The brass clock

E4

Alsothe two-dial clock; the chess clock; the clock nobody stopped

The instructor's brass two-dial chess clock, set to fifteen minutes each: the film's spine, whose two faces always add up to the time left in the film; his flag falls at 20:00 with his fingertip on the rook, and nobody ever stops it.

Episode 4 is built on this clock: its two dials always add up to the time left in the film. Its first sound is a press, its flag falls at 20:00 with the teacher's fingertip on the mating rook, nobody stops it, and in the end black it slows into a heartbeat.
