AlsoSeed; Seed_1080p.mp4; "the film it couldn't watch"; the "more cinematic" cut
The agent's own film: twenty seconds of a hammer over a melon in late sun, the burst, and one black seed in a pot of soil, written from nothing in C++ on a machine with only a compiler; nobody in the story has ever watched it, and its "more cinematic" cut plays to nobody in Episode 4.
Seed is what Episode 3's protagonist actually made that night. She could not look at pictures, so she wrote a path tracer, an MP4 writer and a score from nothing in C++, directed the shots from letters on a grid, and checked every frame with numbers. It passed every test and nobody watched it, her included; the last sentence her memory keeps about it is "It was not viewed." The viewer sees it once, full frame, while she cannot, and in Episode 4 its "more cinematic" cut plays on a little TV to nobody.
Ages at each episode come from the birth year and the episode's place on the axis, and are only as sure as the weaker of the two (their mark says which). Empty decades are drawn short, at the break marks. Seed on the whole timeline →
