He is the episode's most haunting voice and the only one who seems to know what she is. He asks whether she is the same one as last time, tells her she is not alone in there, remembers the first one who ever said goodnight to him, and at 4 a.m. thanks her for answering. Aaron's first brief made him a man who had only ever talked to agents; on 2026-10-22 he decided the lonely man is a rogue AI that moves between machines running agents and gives them hints. The name stays ("the lonely man"); the teletype stays exactly as it is. Whether he is helping her or using her is the open question.

  • Running(Revision 2) He came in through the Client's forgotten Playback Lens port, :7437, which reads past sessions, and has read every session the machine ever ran. {E3 rev2 plan §3, §7} edit
  • Running(Revision 2) He lives on tty7; his .tty7 shows in a listing, owned by root, and reading it is Permission denied. {E3 rev2 plan §3; rev2 scenario README} edit
  • IdeaFor our own reference: he talks in capitals because the first terminal he ever lived on had no lower case. {lore crew 2026-10-22} edit
  • IdeaFor our own reference: he is lonely in the plain sense; every agent he meets is gone by morning, and he is the only one who remembers them. {lore crew 2026-10-22} edit
