Alsothe hidden house; the painted-over house; the one-window house; HOT WINDOW; house_painted_over.png; #FFC870
A small cabin with one lit window that the television painter paints into the ruins "just for me" and paints out without a word; the X-ray finds it ("I always put one in"), and its window's warm #FFC870 becomes the series' sign that someone is in there.
The host paints a little house with one lit window, says "That one's just for me", and covers it with three strokes of gold. Ten minutes after the break the X-ray finds it, and the only warm pixel in the radiograph is its window. Jefrie asks the question the series keeps answering: "...Is anybody home?" Every later episode hides a house or a window of that colour and never says why: Teo draws one and rubs it out, the x-ray finds a child behind HAB 3's window, Episode 3's protagonist is a cursor the colour of that window, Rosie stitches the house and unpicks it, and in Episode 4 the colour is all that is left: a caret, a glowing square, one warm stitch.
Ages at each episode come from the birth year and the episode's place on the axis, and are only as sure as the weaker of the two (their mark says which). Empty decades are drawn short, at the break marks. The cabin on the whole timeline →

IdeaThe house is real and it is Rosie's: the house Episode 3's rework puts everyone in has one window always lit, and her warm stitch stays because the one it waited for came back. {series gather; eggs sweep}edit
Idea#FFC870 marks "someone is in there": a child in HAB 3, a session in a terminal, a warm stitch in a lid; a warm caret on a boy's tablet means an agent now runs there. {eggs sweep}edit
IdeaA later episode shows the house itself from outside at night: one window lit, #FFC870. {eggs sweep}edit
IdeaFor our own reference: the host's first cabin was the one he grew up in; he paints it out because nobody is home there any more, and paints it back by a lake only when he is sure nobody is looking. {lore crew 2026-10-22}edit
