Timeline

Every dated line of the series on one axis. Y0 is the night Episode 1 was broadcast; Y+60 is about sixty years later. No calendar year is fixed on screen.

How the axis works

Y0 is the night of Episode 1's broadcast. Y+60 means about sixty years later; about marks a year that is math, and a range (Y+55..63) marks either a span or a placement that is not fixed. A dated [fact] line means the event itself is on screen (or on an episode's hidden page); its Y value may still be math from a world bible, named in the same line or in the placement lines at the top of its section. The episode clock (20:00, 25:15) and the night's own clock (4:47 a.m., base time 18:00) are both given where the screen gives them. Calendar dates seen on screen (2018 to 2026) are recorded as what the screen shows; no calendar year is fixed for Y0 (see Episode 1's night). Episode 3's place is not fixed: its section uses Y+55..63, the whole window Aaron left open. The sky's age and the worlds inside the paintings, songs and boxes keep their own clocks and stand at the end, off the axis. Merged 2026-10-22 from the five gathered timelines (Episodes 1-4 and the series' WORLD_TIMELINE on main and origin/episode-4-chess).

Show What the tiers mean

Four nights and 18 lives

Each column is an episode's night, in its colour; a dashed edge means its place is a running assumption. Each row is someone with a birth year, with their age at the episodes they are in (~ = about). Empty decades are drawn short, at the break marks.

Every line on this page is drawn from the lore: 153 sheets and 8,338 lines of Markdown in Aaron's series repo, each with exactly one tier. Change a line there and run lore.py publish, and every page of this course follows (this copy: built 23 October 2026 from 3ab0458).

Sources are in braces: {E2 25:20} is Episode 2 at 25:20, {E4 S17} a scene, {Aaron 2026-10-22} a decision of Aaron's. “edit” opens the line in the series repo, which is private: it works for Aaron and the crews; the sources are everyone's. Everything that isn't steel is free to change.
